Venture Capital Interview Prep

About

Venture has no hiring season. That is what makes it hard.

Venture Capital Interview Prep reports on how European funds actually hire juniors — one seat at a time, usually without a posting, and on no fixed calendar. We write down which funds have run a real intake, what they asked, and what the job turned out to be.

The problem this site was built for

Most funds hire when somebody leaves. There is no on-cycle window, rarely a search firm running a visible process, and often no advertised role. A candidate can prepare hard for months and still be preparing for a format the fund in question has never used.

The second problem is that the title means almost nothing. An analyst seat at a seed fund in Berlin and a growth seat in London share a name and share very little else — different work, different exercise, different money, different exit.

What we report

Fund by fund: whether a structured junior intake exists and when it last ran, who sits on the panel, whether the exercise is an investment memo, a deck teardown, a sourcing task or a market-sizing question, and what the seat pays once you have it. Where a fund has never published any of that, we say so rather than guessing.

  • Every fund figure carries a date

Fund sizes, team headcount and portfolio counts change with every close and every departure. Each number here names where it came from and the day it was true, so a reader can tell a current figure from a historical one.

  • Somebody else re-reads the sources

Nothing goes up on one person's reading of a page. A second editor opens each link, sets the claim beside what is actually there, and repeats the exercise every time the article is revised.

  • No fund pays for coverage

We have no relationship with any fund, accelerator or search firm named on this site. Where a link points at a paid product, the sentence containing it says so.

The work is directed by our lead editor, Nadia Brandt — an editorial pen name. The full method, including how corrections are handled, is in our editorial standards. Venture Capital Interview Prep is operated by the company named in our Impressum.
